Full Sky Farm is a 70-acre veganic homestead dedicated to cultivating rare and endangered seeds, medicinal herbs, and obscure plants—all with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. This mission is grounded in the belief that the Earth needs our care now more than ever. By embracing veganic farming practices and permaculture techniques the aim is to not only heal this land, but to also encourage others to live in greater harmony with nature.
Our approach is inspired by the biblical call to “tend the garden and keep it”.Genesis 2:15-16
Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat
This guiding principle calls us to steward creation with respect, compassion, and care. Through veganic gardening we fulfill this mission by nurturing the land without exploitation. In doing so, we embrace a truly holistic view that honors all life and fosters peace, love, and sustainability for all.
At Full Sky Farm, we hope our work not only nurtures this land but also inspires others to live more mindfully and to connect with the Earth in a deeper, more compassionate way. Through these efforts, we envision a future where humans and nature coexist in harmony, and the Earth is allowed to heal and thrive for the generations to come.
What is veganic agriculture?
Veganic agriculture is anchored in the organic standards, but goes much further by also protecting animals, wildlife, insects & pollinators, and native plants. No chemicals or GMO’s are used in veganic agriculture, and also no animal inputs of any kind are used, ensuring a fully ethical and ecological approach to growing food. By working with the land in this mindful way we honor the Earth’s true nature, promote biodiversity and nurture a sustainable ecosystem.
Conventional and “Organic” agriculture often rely on animal-based inputs for fertilizer, such as blood meal, bone meal, feather meal, fish meal, and feces, which are most often sourced from factory farming operations. This use of animal products not only harms the animals which were raised to slaughter, but also drives the demand for animal feed—primarily GMO monocrops such as soybeans and corn which are heavily sprayed with chemicals like Roundup. Supporting the organic industry indirectly supports the non-organic factory farming operations that are causing widespread environmental destruction.
When an agriculture system uses animal inputs in growing crops, it introduces the potential for animal diseases to be passed into the human population. The various medications, vaccinations, and growth hormones that are still present in the animal products are also introduced into the soil, and can be taken up by plant crops. Animal pathogens such as e-coli and salmonella regularly contaminate vegetables that are grown with the addition of animal inputs. Just think about how many times we’ve all heard about a recall on lettuce for this reason.
In contrast, veganic agriculture promotes a sustainable, healthy, and Earth-friendly approach to growing food where everyone benefits.
